1. Freedom

Keeping in sync with their objective to offer liberal arts educations, the admin and faculty at Ashoka approach the student life with a liberal outlook as well. Unlike other rule restricted institutions, Ashokan students do not have a curfew. They have the liberty to pull all-nighters in classrooms and libraries, return back to campus even past midnight and even have cross-access to dorms of opposite gender. All university students are treated as adults and are given the freedom to take their own decisions, be it planning their timetable or deciding their major.

2. Flexibility

The flexible and diverse academic structure of Ashoka University is what makes it unique. You could come in with the mindset of completing a conventional degree such as B.Sc. Economics or B.A. History but might end up pursuing an interdisciplinary major as creative as Computer Science and Entrepreneurial Leadership. Even after offering the flexibility to study a wide array of subjects, Ashoka University still leaves a wiggle room to change your major until you’re confident of your choice.

3. Friends

Students at Ashoka University belong to a diverse range of cultural, academic and even socio-economic backgrounds. Through their experiences and interactions, students inculcate an ethos that imbibes sensitivity and acceptance. Late night club meetings, casual conversations in the common room or even exchange of a few words in the lift with the critical minds that delve at Ashoka, all contribute to the holistic development of individuals as every interaction exposes them to a whole new perspective.

4. Faculty

You could show up to your lecture in your jammies without worrying about any judgemental stares because chances are even your professor would be rocking his favourite Hawaiian shirt with his beloved shell necklace. Despite appearances, the faculty at Ashoka University promote a flourishing environment by entertaining candid conversations over coffee and encouraging students to truly discover what they’re passionate about. With distinguished academic backgrounds, the faculty at Ashoka University from all over the world allow and help students understand what the subject offers.

5. Financial Aid

The founders of Ashoka University insist on it being an inclusive institution. Special emphasis is thus paid to ensure that meritorious students do not miss out on quality education because of their financial status. While a lot of students receive up to 50% off on tuition fee, many students are also admitted with 100% scholarship and are even supported with monthly pocket money to help them cater to their everyday needs.
