SUMMER SCHOOLS IN INDIA

British Council, India

They run a 3-week Summer School course for young learners between the ages of 7 and 15 years.

The course is delivered in a fun and interactive way with the aim to improve your child’s confidence in using the language. The course aims to improve the students’ language skills , vocabulary as well as pronunciation, all of which are instrumental in future tests and interviews.

Project work is fun and different to the normal school routine and encourages confidence, creativity, communication and team-working skills.

Their summer school courses are available at their centres in Chennai, Delhi and Kolkata.Their courses inculcate the habit of reading and using English as a language of expression, using interesting activities.

The use of context, real-life situations and functional language helps learners to practise language through stimulating and challenging activities. Learners have the chance to work in pairs and in groups, which helps prepare them for real-life communication. Students are encouraged to speak as much English as possible, in order to naturalise the speech and rule structure and harness the perfect fluency.

KING’S COLLEGE, London-Indian Summer School

Another opportunity to study under world class facility in the summer is the Indian edition of KCL, hosted at a number of prestigious colleges in the cities :

  1. Bombay at Hr college of Commerce & Economics,
  2. Delhi at Lady Shri Ram College and Miranda House,
  3. Bangalore at St. Joseph’s among others

They offer a variety of courses from which you can choose,But, only one from each session. Interesting courses enable students to experience an international education closer to home. Also, they prepare students for the international market which is very competitive.

There are two sessions that run for about a month during the summer. Students can attend one two-week course per session and students can attend one session or both. Each course is 45 contact hours and 105 private study hours. The teaching takes place from Monday to Friday.

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL

The International Summer School, New Delhi is an intensive six-week academic programme that brings together students from all over the world as they study and interact with one another over the course of a summer in India’s national capital. An initiative of the New Delhi-based Centre for Escalation of Peace (CEP, www.cepeace.org), the programme is convened annually under the banner of the Government’s acclaimed Incredible! India campaign, with the support of the Ministry of External Affairs. Its purpose is to promote international goodwill and cultural understanding at the level of young minds as they learn about India and its role in the twenty first century.

It is a highly interactive module with courses on Indian Politics, economy, sociology and history. there is another module which revolves around fieldwork, that is engaging and interesting for students and builds on their existing knowledge base.
