TOP ART AND DESIGN SCHOOLS IN THE US

United States has often been called the dream destination for art and design school aspirants. According to the QS World University Rankings by subject, US boasts of having 7 of the top ten institutes in the world. It can be gauged adequately by this observation that US has much to offer in this area of specialization to students. We take a closer look at these top colleges and give you a bird’s eye view of their requirements.

1.     Parsons School of Design

At Parsons, students from across the globe collaborate to develop skills that they need to carve a niche in this ever evolving society. Their hands on approach, in one of the most developed cities across the world, New York City, help students gain vast exposure. Since 2013, Parsons offer courses in Paris as well. All undergraduate programs include a strong liberal arts component, including courses in art and design history, theory, and criticism. 2.     Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

3.     Rhode Island School of Design

Offering bachelor programs in Ceramics, photography and interior desig , it is one of the oldest art and design schools in the United States.

5.     Pratt Institute

This institute is the epicenter for arts design business and cultural assimilation. There are two campuses, one in Brooklyn and the other in Manhattan. Both are vibrant places housing creative individuals. With very renowned alumni and faculty, Pratt’s courses have consistently seen a positive review of its courses.

 

6.     School of the Art Institute of Chicago

7.     California Institute of the Arts

CalArts Offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs through six schools—Art, Critical Studies, Dance, Film/Video, Music, and Theater. Students of this institute reflect the creative excellence of its environment and works towards developing new forms of expression. What is interesting to know about CalArts is that the Institute was first envisioned by Walt Disney. Based in Valencia, the admission process is competitive and is usually assessed on basis of showcase of one’s talent.
