What to do with your summer break?! Summer Schools Abroad!

Summer programs are a great hit with aspiring students who wish to make the most of their summers to give a boost to their college applications. So this is blog about summer programs and how to make the most of your summer:

Summer schools at the desired university-
Many students are under the impression that looking for summer programs at universities they are interested in is the only way to go about it. However a more prudent way is to focus on finding programs that cater to your specific interests. Most of the major universities offer opportunities for high school students during the summer. This has a dual purpose- students can take classes for academic credit while also live on campus with other students from all around the world thus imbibing certain cultural benefits while gaining pre-college experience. Summer schools also help you narrow down on your long term academic interests and making new friends. Summer programs allow you to get a taste of campus life in an environment that isn’t yet crowded with students. Regardless of the size of the school you have chosen, the campus space without teeming with students could help with acclimatization.

Start applying as soon as possible:
Many summer programs accept qualified applicants on an early-bird-catches-the-worm basis throughout May, but tend to fill up quickly. Other programs, specifically the extremely competitive ones, have deadlines in March/April. Therefore, it’s crucial that you understand the various options available to you, and begin your application early so that they have enough time to gather all the required materials.
